Meet the team
LINDSAY
Hello, my name is Lindsay and I have lived in Dunbar for the past 10 years. I have worked with children for the last 11 years. Initially as a childminder with my husband Bryan and then working at the after- school club.
I have completed my SVQ Practitioner qualification and I am currently working towards my managerial qualification, the PDA 9 in Childhood Practice.
Working with children is very rewarding and brings new challenges every day! I especially like doing various activities with the children and watching their confidence grow.
I have 2 teenage children who attend school in Dunbar. In my spare time I like walking and cycling and going to my yoga class. I enjoy spending time with my family and catching up with friends.
BRYAN
I grew up in Bonnyrigg, attending Lasswade High school. I moved to Dunbar in 2010. I worked in the printing industry for 22 years before leaving to work with Lindsay my wife as a childminder, we have 2 teenage children.
I love most sports, in particular cycling and football where I qualified as a SYFA coach at Dunbar United Colts. I have trained as a first responder where I volunteered in Dunbar. I qualified as a children’s practitioner having completed the SVQ level 3 in Children and Young People and Social Services qualification.
Working with kids was a great choice for me, helping children is the most rewarding job I can think of, knowing that my job is to help kids achieve their full potential. As a parent I like to think of myself as a good role model who has fun with my children, and a dad that my children can always speak too.
I enjoy music of most genres but especially going to live music, I love film and going to the cinema, I like to keep fit.
I really enjoy mountain biking and enjoy lots of great trails locally in Dunbar too.
LYNNE
Originally from Prestonpans, I moved to Dunbar 15 years ago where I still live with my partner Ray and our 3 children.
I was a Hairdresser for 18 years before my career in childcare. I started volunteering at Dunbar Youth Club which gave me the confidence and experience to pursue a role as a practitioner at Dunbar childcare After School Club which has led me to my SVQ level 3 in Children and Young People and Social Services qualification.
I love doing craft activities of all sorts. I have skills and interests in outdoor or hall activities, games, football, running and joining in.
I love working with children as every child is unique and interesting in their own way. Every day here is different whether it be fun or challenging. I love to see the children grow and flourish into amazing people. If I can help support and guide the children to make good, safe choices for themselves then that makes me happy.
In my spare time I love doing D.I.Y. I spend time with my family because there is nothing more important than your nearest and dearest, they are my happy place. I also enjoy the odd night out to let my hair down with friends and house- work – I love cleaning!
PAULINE
I was born in Edinburgh, I lived for 22 years in Bristol before moving to Dunbar 5 years ago. I live with my husband and youngest son who is in S6 at Dunbar Grammar. My older three children (two daughters, one son) all settled in England after attending university there.
I completed my City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People in 2014 and began working at DASC in August 2017. I enjoy spending time with the children, every day is different and you can never get bored!
Outside of work I enjoy taking holidays, whether at home or abroad. I spend my time walking my rescue Lurcher dog, we love to visit all the beaches of East Lothian and he is always with us on day trips and short breaks in Scotland. To relax I like nothing better than a cup of tea and a good book, when I get the time!
CHELSEY
Hello, I’m Dunbar born and bred and still in love with the little seaside town that I call home. I live here with my husband and daughter (aged 3).
I have been interested in working in childcare from a very young age and becoming an Auntie at 13 confirmed this for me as I adored spending time with my nephews and niece. All being together at family events or even just walks around the coast is good for the soul.
I have now worked in the Childcare sector for the last 8 years from being a nanny to working in private nurseries and now as a Childcare Practitioner at the After School Club. During my time working within nurseries, I also gained my qualification (SVQ 3 – Children’s Care Learning and Development).
I previously come from an outdoor based learning nursery so enjoying getting the children outdoors as much as possible, whether it be for a quick burst of fresh air, cooking on a fire, collecting natural resources for activities when back inside and risky play.
In my spare time I enjoy going on woodland walks and bike rides with my family, socialising with friends, being engrossed in a good book and baking many a cakes and cheesecakes for other to enjoy.
